I met a lovely woman back in February . That's one of the wonderful thing about living in a city as culturally diverse as Vancouver - you are able to make connections with people that you may have otherwise never had the privilege of meeting/befriending. Sophie and her husband met in Dubai where they had both moved for work. It didn't take long for them to fall in love and were married not long after! They decided a couple of years ago to move to Canada and chose (in my opinion) the best possible location - Vancouver.

When I met Sophie she was renting space from another salon but had dreams of quickly starting her own business and running her own Brow and Wax Bar. Just six months later I was privileged enough to be taking photos for her brand new location down in Kits! What an inspiration! She's truly a woman with a mission.

Not only does she run a Brow and Wax bar (she was the first person to thread my eyebrows - let me tell ya... pretty substantial difference... haha), but she is also a professional makeup artist. We set up a photo shoot with my dear friend (and local Jazz singer) Natasha D'Agostino in order to showcase her skills...

I was then able to join Sophie and a large group of family and friends in celebrating the Grand Opening of "Shapes Brow and Wax Bar" this past Saturday. There was free henna, chai tea, pakoras, cupcakes, eyebrow makeup kits and even a threading demonstrations! It was a lot of fun.

Congratulations Sophie (and team)! Happy opening to Shapes Brow and Wax Bar!
