I met Jennifer while photographing Poppy's first birthday party - She and Hadley had come to join in on the celebration and, after seeing the photos shortly after, decided to book a Family Portrait Session with me!
We had tossed around a couple of location options but ultimately decided on The Stewart Historical Farm out in White Rock, BC. I had done a photo shoot there before and knew that the grounds were beautiful and offered lots of diversity.
It's always a fun thing to spend a bit of time with a family you wouldn't have previously had a connection with - Aaron and Jennifer are easy to talk to, relaxed and fun. Hadley was so interested in her surroundings that it was hard to keep her in one place for very long! (But what can you expect from a one-year-old?) Luckily, Mom and Dad knew some tricks for catching her attention and making her laugh.
What I like about Stewart Farms in the Fall is that it offers fantastic colours and multiple options for settings - You can represent the West Coast through the wooded area, the dock or the farmyard itself!
We were thrilled that the rain held off and that we were able to spend our time together exploring such a wonderful site! It was even clear enough for the mountains to make a few appearances in the background of some of the shots.
I think Hadley's favourite part of the whole experience was when she was free to explore! Look at this little face - what a doll!
Thank you, Aaron and Jennifer (and Hadley!) for the lovely afternoon :)
